Welcome to the Real World

If anyone truly knows me, they know that I am a news junkie. I watch various stations for their perspective on local news, politics, religion, etc. I do this mostly because of my profession and my beliefs. This past week has been all about what is going on in the Middle East, more specifically, the battle that is taking place in Libya.
Right now it does not matter if you believe that our U.S. troops should be there or not, the fact is, they are there for the time being and will be there for how ever long the president and Congress decides. That is not the important issue at work here. At least not important for this blog. The truth is, Libya is only a small part of what seems to be a changing policy in how the U.S. deals with Islamic nations. We have become a nation that tolerates (IE. accept EVERYTHING) all who come across our path unless they are not willing to bend to what ever the majority deems to be right.
Case in point, the pastor in Florida who just recently burned a bunch of quarans. Whether I think it was right or wrong is another story. The story is this pastor is being blamed for the deaths of Americans in Afghanistan. Is this right? Should he take the entire blame for a mob that had it in their heart to kill Americans? I do not think so. It has been said that these people, who are Muslims, would have and have killed Americans and that the pastor just threw a match into an already lit fire.
MSNBC, which carries the show, Hardball with Chris Matthews, gave this report and the commentators and reporters want this pastor to pay for those deaths. What is wrong with this picture? What about the people who took American lives? Are they exempt because they felt justified? According to MSNBC they are. Or at least that is what they allowed it to sound like. A senior editor for Time magazine stated that burning quaran's is likened to, "burning God!" That it is ultimately more serious than burning a bible because the bible was written by men where the quaran was written by god. REALLY!?
Welcome to the new world my brothers and sisters. Welcome to the world where if you disagree with a Muslim you are an intolerant bigot. Welcome to the new world where you will either choose to serve God or choose to serve the Islamic god. Yes, there is a difference. Do not allow anyone to tell you that the two are the same. They are not. Soon we will awaken to a government that we do not recognize, a day where the Islamic flag will fly tandem to the U.S. flag. Then people will wake up and all I can say as Morpheus said so eloquently, "Welcome to the Real World!"
